The Green Inferno: Stephen King was right

So, I’ve collected my thoughts after seeing Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno, and I found it to be quite cringe-worthy–in a good way (that is, if you’re into horror). Stephen King referred to this movie as a “glorious throwback” and I have to agree.

If you’re not familiar with the plot, a bunch of college activists travel to the jungle in an attempt to save it, but they run into a colony of hungry cannibals. I bet you can guess what happens next. It’s like a tribute to Cannibal Holocaust, another bloody movie I recommend.

Horror is facing a few challenges these days: if you get trapped somewhere, you can text or call someone to save your ass, or you can use GPS to navigate your way out of a hellhole. The Green Inferno addresses these nicely and puts the college kids in “you’re so fucked” situations that prove to be difficult to get out of. The film has plenty of gore and grossness, so I was pretty entertained.

What did y’all think of this flick?
